rareshipsonbingoWelcome to Rare Ships!!! on BINGO! This is a bingo challenge for Yuri on Ice, themed around rare relationships!
For those who may not know, a bingo card is a five-by-five grid. In fandom challenges, each square of the grid on these cards are filled with various prompts, ships, tropes, et cetera. The idea is to make fanworks using those prompts, for five squares in a row - filling out a line on your card vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. When you finish those five in a row, you’ve got a bingo!
When you sign up, you can receive one or both of two random bingo cards - one with various prompts, and one with various rare relationships in the categories you choose from. You can see the possible prompts and relationships here. If you choose both, you can then choose to do a bingo with your prompt card, a bingo with your ship card, a bingo on both cards separately with separate sets of works, or if you're really up for a challenge, a bingo on both cards at once with one set of works! (The bingos do not need to use the same line on both cards.)
For fills only using the prompt card, or for fills using the free space on the ship card, you may use any rare relationship. For this bingo, rare relationships are defined as those with fewer than 500 complete works on AO3 in English over 500 words. Currently, the following relationships are disqualified:

Otabek/Yuri
Otabek & Yuri
Phichit & Yuuri
Yuuri & Yuri
Victor & Yuri
Mila/Sara
In the relationship tags, '/' indicates a romantic and/or sexual relationship, while '&' indicates a platonic relationship. Repetitions of the same character's name - for example, the ship Christophe Giacometti/Christophe Giacometti - indicate selfcest ships with two copies of the same character, due to time travel, magic, dreams, et cetera.
You can include other relationships, even non-rare ones, in a fill, but the focus of the fill needs to be on a rare relationship. To count as a fill for the ship card, the focus of your fill needs to be on the relationship in that card square. One-sided or unrequited relationships are okay.
Prompts may be interpreted in any way that you wish, with any meaning from literal to metaphorical. For example, you can interpret the prompt 'Spiral' as being about figure skating spirals, pair skating death spirals, drawn spiral shapes, a spiraling mental state, or anything else you can think of. For prompts with multiple phrases, such as 'Prize money and sponsorships', you only need to use at least one phrase. The words of the prompt don't need to appear in written fills; there just needs to be clear inspiration from the prompt.
When you have completed a fill, please post it to the AO3 collection (you may of course also post it anywhere else of your choosing). You can also make a post on this Dreamwidth community to link to your fill - the post should contain at least the title, rating, relationship, any AO3 warnings or Choose Not To Warn, and if applicable, the prompt that you used. If you post your fill or a link to it on Tumblr and want it reblogged by the Rare Ships on Bingo tumblr, please tag it with 'rsobingo'.
When you finish your five works in a line - BINGO! Wow! Amazing!! Feel free to make a post to the community or on Tumblr with links to all five works in your bingo to celebrate.
If you're up for more after that, you can do more bingos with your current cards (if you do two bingos on the same card, you don't need to make new fills for any overlapping squares), or ask for a new pair.

However, when posting your fills to the community, or if you would like your Tumblr post reblogged by the bingo Tumblr, please either warn for any content under the four AO3 warnings (noncon, graphic violence, major character death, underage) if present, or note that you Choose Not To Warn. If you'd like, you may add additional warnings for other content besides the AO3 warnings, but it is not required.
2. The minimum word count for writing fills is 500 words. The minimum for art fills is a nice sketch, not on lined paper. All fills must be newly created for this challenge.
3. You can make a series out of your fills, if you like, but each work must stand on its own.
4. Only one ship and/or prompt square will count for a single fill.
5. You may also count your fills towards other prompt challenges if it's allowed by that challenge's rules.
6. No ship-bashing or kink-shaming. If you see something on your card or in the collection that you don't like, or find distasteful or upsetting, please simply move on or fill another square.

Challenge begins midnight going into June 1, EST. Challenge is closed midnight going into November 1, EST. Signing up can be done at any time before the bingo closes. The mod will post a gentle reminder of the bingo on DW and Tumblr at the top of every month; these will be tagged, so you can filter them out if you have a paid account or are on Tumblr.
